Simulated Penetration Test and Security Hardening of a Vulnerable Linux Host

This capstone project simulates a real-world internal penetration test against a misconfigured Ubuntu system. It includes reconnaissance, vulnerability enumeration, exploitation, privilege escalation, and post-exploitation remediation. The project follows industry frameworks and concludes with a detailed hardening process using CIS and NIST guidelines.
